This research aims to describe the process of solving word problem that students do in proporional problem on seventh grade of elementary school. The method is descriptive research with case studies form. The are 37 students involved in the collection of data. The result of analysis data is students more easily solve directly proportional rather than inversely proportional. In problem solving directly proportional, students do according the suggested by Polya. In problem solving inversely proportional students are still have difficult. There are process of solving the inversely proportion is after understanding the problem, they do the mathematical calculation without make the plan and looking back that examinations.
